Working in the timber business as a forester since 2000, Mark has developed an in-depth knowledge of timber reforestation practices, timberland management, timber markets and timber harvesting operations. For the first seven years after graduating from Auburn University, he worked as a procurement forester for Georgia Pacific sourcing wood materials for the Naheola Paper Mill. In the fall of 2007, he helped form Canebrake Forestry, and Mark has since spent time as a consulting forester in west Alabama. Mark also trains dogs in retrieving and obedience as a partner in Blackbelt Retrievers. He was born and raised in Demopolis, Alabama, where he currently lives with his wife Jennifer, a teacher in the Demopolis City School System. They have three sons. If they are not at a ballfield somehwere, they enjoy spending time at their camp on the Tombigbee River.
